Painted Vision is a creative service located in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. It produces original artwork and provides face painting services for all occasions.

 

My name is Melissa Hanstad, and I am the creator of Painted Vision. I have a husband who is a civil engineer, a daughter, and a son.

As a former art teacher, I love using art to bring joy to the lives of children. Face painting has provided that opportunity while allowing me to stay home with my children. It is a lot of fun as I get to get to be a part of a lot of fun events! I love getting do art on people's face, being a part of their personal self-expression.

I began Painted Vision by painting on old windows, and I discovered a whole new way of painting. I follow my impulses, and paint whatever my hand feels like. I hope each painting leaves an impact on the viewer, even if they can’t put it to words. They are spiritual in nature and are meant to encourage and evoke emotion in the viewer. I have an experience when I make them, and I hope the viewer has an experience when they view them.
